Guide Dogs at Sunbury PS

Sunbury Primary School has a long history of helping to socialise guide dog puppies for the Guide Dogs Association of Victoria

Puppies visit our school as part of their training.

Bass was born on 22.11.1996. He is now working as a guide dog in country Victoria.

Queenie was born on 25.12.1996. She passed her initial assessment and had started her training, but she became lame and was not able to complete her training.

She was placed with a teenager in country Victoria who was a quadriplegic after an accident at a swimming pool. So Queenie became a "Pets as Therapy" dog.

Ribbon was born on the 3.10.1998. She passed her assessment and was then flown to Japan to become part of their breeding program. She has had several litters of puppies. The first litter had 11 puppies and the second litter had 10 puppies. These are fairly large numbers for labradors.
