Sunbury Primary School
is proud to be involved in the following projects:

Mag-Net logo

The Mag-Net Project provides a range of teaching and learning experiences using new technologies across the curriculum. We have worked with Stevensville Primary School on a project called "Animal, Vegetable, Mineral." where we played a guessing game using email. When we made a correct guess a piece of the jigsaw puzzle was sent to us.

Greg goes on tour with Mag-Net Project Officers to learn more about computer networks in schools.

We have been involved in the Weather Stations Project. We have an electronic weather station and will collect information and send it to the Mag-Net site where we can compare the weather in Sunbury with other places in Victoria.

Research and Development Grants provide support and impetus for teachers to undertake research in a particular area of the curriculum to determine the impact of the use of learning technologies on student learning. Sunbury PS is one of eleven schools involved in this initiative. The outcomes and recommendations of each project will be documented and published on the SOFWeb site.

In the Teddy Bear Project, teddy bears are sent on wonderful adventures. The bears keep diaries. In them they record things about the lives of children in the schools they visit. They use the Internet to write home. One of our bears, named Aussy, is having a great time in Latvia.

Gum Leaf the koala is at present in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania in the USA. We have a visitor named Stripes, a racoon, who is spending time with the Preps and Grade 1 students in Mrs Guest's class.

The Global Classroom Project aims to develop and promote models of networked student learning and teacher professional development. It endeavours to extend the learning experience beyond the traditional boundaries, physical locations, resources and timetables of school, and create new learning experiences which lead to heightened expectations of the learning process for both students and teachers.
