PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
At Sunbury Primary School we have a very active Parents and Friends Association (PFA) who meets twice a term to organise fundraising and social activities for the school.
Our fundraising activities in the past have helped provide facilities for our children such as classroom air conditioning, playground equipment, construction of the Industrial Playground and shade sails, contributions to the school’s annual Horticulture Day, the rejuvenation of the soccer pitch and equipment for the sports department just to name a few.
We hold one major fundraiser per term. These include the Easter Raffle, chocolate drive, trivia night and the Sunbury Primary School Stampede. We also hold the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls for both our school and our neighbouring Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School.
While fundraising is our primary focus, we also organise some social events for the parents at the school. On the first day of school each year we hold a morning tea for all prep parents to meet and share their experiences of their first day of school as parents. This year we hold a Mother’s ay dinner and in 2017 we will explore the possibility of a social event to celebrate Father's Day. Our annual trivia night is a hugely popular night for the parents to have a night off from the kids and have some fun together.
Joining the Parents and Friends Association is a great way to meet other parents and to make a direct impact on the experience your children will have at Sunbury Primary School. We are open to all mothers, fathers, guardians and grandparents to come and join us. New members are always welcome.
