A Message from the Principal

A very warm welcome to Sunbury Primary School. I am immensely proud of our wonderful school and very proud to be the principal. It is a privilege for me to work with our students, staff and families every day to make our school the very best it can be.

Our school is located on top of Jackson’s Hill and is housed in refurbished, heritage-listed bluestone and weatherboard buildings making it a unique school environment. Our landscaped grounds feature historically significant trees and a horticulture centre, The Patch. The playground facilities include an oval, soccer field, basketball court, passive recreation areas and play equipment which includes an industrial playground that is matched to the different physical and social stages of development.

We are very proud of the good reputation our school maintains within our local community and aim to create a safe, nurturing yet challenging environment that is built on positive relationships, high trust and respect.  At Sunbury Primary School we believe that relationships are fundamental to the educational and social development of children and young people.

Partnerships with parents are highly valued with parental participation encouraged in school programs and through consultation to create the best possible learning opportunities for our students. We hope that through your participation and interest you will also come to feel very much a part of our school and its community. We provide an appealing and stimulating curriculum that is flexible and tailored to the needs of every student as we strive for high educational outcomes and success for all students. Our passionate teachers ensure our students grow in confidence and capabilities and develop the skills for the rapidly changing, 21st century.

Ongoing Staff professional learning ensures that we continually improve the quality of learning and teaching at Sunbury Primary School. We believe that the most important thing we can do to improve student learning outcomes is to develop and improve the skills of our teachers.
